1. About this document
The Canadian Food Inflation Index is published as a free public resource at canadianfoodindex.ca. The published values are computed from three underlying sources, each of which carries its own licence and attribution obligations. This document discloses those obligations and the terms on which the published values are made available.
2. Source Attribution
Statistics Canada
A portion of the published Inflation Index is derived from Statistics Canada Table 18-10-0004-01 (Consumer Price Index, monthly, food component), used under the Statistics Canada Open Licence.
Required attribution: “Adapted from Statistics Canada, Consumer Price Index, Table 18-10-0004-01 (Open Licence). Statistics Canada does not endorse this product.”
Emitted as X-Inflation-Source-Statscan-Attribution HTTP header on every API response.
Bank of Canada
A portion is derived from the Bank of Canada Valet Web Service, series V41690973 (Consumer Price Index, all-items), used under the Bank of Canada Valet Terms of Use.
Required attribution: “Adapted from Bank of Canada Valet Web Service, series V41690973 (CPI all-items). Bank of Canada does not endorse this product.”
Emitted as X-Inflation-Source-Bankofcanada-Attribution HTTP header on every API response.
Internal Price-History Source
A portion is computed from the project's own price-history observations. There is no third-party licence governing this contribution.
Disclosure: “Computed from the project's own price-history observations. Not a substitute for Statistics Canada's published CPI.”

6. No Warranty; No Liability
The Canadian Food Inflation Index is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The operator accepts no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the published values.
7. Independent Risk Profiles
The Canadian Food Inflation Index publishes in two distinct published surfaces with intentionally separated risk profiles. This document covers the National Blended Inflation Index. The per-retailer banner-level weekly snapshot is published as a separate surface with its own Terms of Use. A change affecting the banner-level surface does not modify the National Blended Inflation Index covered here.
8. Privacy Policy
This site collects no personally identifiable information from public Index visitors beyond standard web-analytics access logs. Refer to the separate Privacy Policy for full disclosure on log retention, cookie use, and Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA + Quebec Law 25) compliance.
